A communications and observation tower that was Japan's tallest tower until Tokyo Skytree was completed.

Best time to visit: Tokyo Tower is fun any time, but the view of the city from high up at night can't be beat.
Must do: Visit during December to take advantage of the nearby Christmas markets!
Even if you're scared of heights, it's worth going up to the first observation deck to look around. Just maybe avoid the glass floor part...
Fun fact: Most people think Tokyo Tower is red and white, but it's actually painted orange to meet air safety regulations!

Best time to visit: Between mid-December and Valentine's Day; the light displays are incredible.
Must do: Ride the ferris wheel and/or the roller coaster that goes through a hole in the building!
If you have some time to kill, you'll be sure to find things to do at Tokyo Dome City! There are often outdoor shows going on and there's no shortage of shops and restaurants to check out.
Just be careful: Tokyo Dome hosts baseball games and huge concerts, and the crowds at those times can be crushing!

Best time to visit: If you like crowds and high-energy, around New Year's is great! If you want a quieter experience, second week of January.
Must do: Get okonomiyaki, takoyaki, or amazake from one of the street vendors.
Hundreds of people line up at Sensoji every year for Hatsumode, the first shrine visit of the new year. While you wait, the shops along the main concourse are full of interesting things to look at, and once you're done, you can eat great street food and get your fortune for the year!

Best time to visit: Spring, if you can get through the crowds. Visiting the observation decks during the day gives a great view of the entire surrounding area.
Must do: Go up to the observation decks, of course!
Tokyo Skytree is lit up every night in different colors, usually blue or pink. Sometimes special colors appear for certain occasions! Be sure to check every night.
